For Alicia the sun had never shinned the way it did that morning. Full of hope. Faith. That morning was the beginning of a new life. She had dreamt with angels all night. They had told her that her wish would come true. The thing she wanted most in the world would come true. Today.
She got up and dressed her beautiful green dress which that exactly the color of her eyes. She was really beautiful. She wanted to look like her. Her beautiful mother. She had never seen someone more beautiful than her. She went to her father's room and entered it. He was sleeping. Like an angel. He really looked like one from her dream. She jumped to his bed and woke him.
"Daddy! Come on, wake up!" She said completely happy.
He opened his eyes. "Hey sweetie... Already awake and dresses?"
She smiled. "Yep. I wanna go to the hospital today..."
"Hum, my baby is really grown up, isn't she?"
She giggled. "Can I go?"
He got up from the bed and nodded. "Off course but first we'll have breakfast." She nodded.
Two hours later they were leaving the apartment to visit the only person in the world who could make their life complete. It was a very special day. It was Mother's day. Every year Angel would take Alicia, who carried a bouquet of flowers in her hands, to the hospital and they would spend the day there. But that day would be special. Alicia was walking hand-in-hand with her father and remembering each part of her dream.
The hospital was as crowded as any other Mother's day. The doctors and nurses were used to that kind of movement but it still confused Alicia. They entered her room and approached her bed. She was more beautiful than ever. Alicia put the flowers on her side and sat on the side of her bed. Angel sat on the chair. He knew it would be hard. It was becoming harder as the years passed.
Alicia sighed. There she was, again. Every year she wished she wouldn't be there the following year. She wished her mother could go home. Could talk to her. Hug her. Kiss her goodnight and put her to bed. She had hoped she would wake. She had dreamt of that.
"Hey Mommy. You're so beautiful today. You're always beautiful but today you're more. I'm wearing your dress. It was in your mother's house - I mean, Grandma's house - and Dad figured out it had been yours. Today I had a strange dream. I was sitting by your side and then an angel, who looked like Daddy, came to me and told me my wish would come true. You know what my wish is? I wish you would wake up. I wish you were with us. Will you? Will my wish ever come true?"
Angel got up and embraced her. It wasn't fair. Buffy should be with them. "It will, sweetheart. Your angel will make your wish come true." She was crying so much and so loudly. It was killing him.
When Buffy heard those words, coming from the heart of her young daughter, she felt like someone was staking her. It hurt so much. In that moment she was feeling stronger than ever. She couldn't stand to see her daughter suffer the way she was suffering. And more than anything she wanted to stop it. She wanted to make her smile. Make her happy. She would move. She would get up. For them. She would make them happy.
Alicia was still hugging her father and crying when she saw it. Her mother was.... opening her eyes. Slowly. Then, she sat on the bed. Angel was too amazed to speak. Words came to his mouth but he couldn't say anything. Alicia jumped to the bed and hugged Buffy. That was too good to be true.
Angel stood there, in the middle of the room, looking completely astonished with what he was seeing, "I'm... going to call the doctor..." he managed to say.
Buffy looked at him smiling. "Honey, I don't need a doctor. I'm better than ever." She told him.
"I know. I can see that. It's not for you... It's for me." They laughed.
When he was trying to leave the room Alicia shouted: "Daddy, don't event think about leaving. Now that mommy wake up it's time for the family be together again.," Buffy smiled and raised her hand to him.
Angel took it and man aged to approach his family. He hugged them and kissed Buffy. It had to be a dream. They could feel each other's lips. Both warm. Both full of passion, desire. Love. "I love you, Buffy. I waited for this moment for so long I can't even believe it's happening." Alicia smiled to the sight in front of her. She finally had a family. And more than ever, she was happy.
