“I wonder where Buffy and Angel are now?” Willow asked.

“Europe I guess,” Xander muttered through a mouthful of food.

The Scooby Gang, and of course Giles, were at the Summer’s, Joyce having invited them over for Sunday lunch. Buffy and Angel were still on their honeymoon.

“Specific much?” Cordelia asked, glaring at Xander.

“Hey its their honeymoon, how am I supposed to know?” Xander cried in indignation.

“Are we Bronzing tonight?” Oz asked, trying to head off the incipient fight. At the glares of those around him he shrugged.

“It’s not like there’s anything else to do,” sighed Cordelia.

The kids looked at Giles and Joyce expectantly. Giles shook his head emphatically and Joyce said, “Oh no, we are too old for that.”

“I don’t know,” Xander said. “You looked pretty young after eating that candy. Didn’t Buffy say something about a police car and...”

Willow punched him in the arm while both Giles and Joyce blushed, and looked everywhere except each other.

“Willow, it’s Xander.”

“Hey, what’s the up?”

“Well I’ve been thinking...”

“About?”

“A lot of things really... hey do you know that they use this weird chemical stuff in all my favourite types of choco...”

“XANDER!”

“Yeh?”

“Get to the point.”

“It’s Cordelia ok? I still love her!!!”

“We wondered when you’d realise.”

“We? Whose we?” he asked instantly paranoid.

“Oz and I.”

“Oh that’s ok then. Look I need your help. Oz’s too. Can you come round before we Bronze it?”

“Uh yeh ok. We’ll be around soon.”

“Great,” Xander sighed in relief. “ And Will, you’re the best.”

Oz and Willow walked into Xander’s room only to met with clothes chaos. Xander himself was no where to be seen.

“Uh, Xander?” Willow asked, poking a particularly large lump of clothes. “Are you under there?”

Xander stepped out fro the bathroom wearing a very classy looking tuxedo. “Whadda think?”

Willow giggled at Xander’s appearance and obvious desire to impress.

“I think it may be a little over the top for the Bronze,” said Oz calmly.

Xander looked panicked. “Aghhh!! What do I wear? Help me people!! Help Me!!!”

“Xander calm down,” Willow said. “Cordelia liked you for who you were. Why are you trying to change?”

“Cause I want her back,” he whined.

“Look we still have time to make you look presentable. So chill and let’s examine this rationally.” Willow said, looking around at the mess.

Minutes later she had him dressed in black pants and coat with a brown shirt. “You look good man,” Oz said.

Xander looked in the mirror and screamed. “Ah, I look like dead boy!”

“And he always looks good,” Willow sighed.

Oz and Xander both turned and looked at her curiously. She forestalled the inevitable questions by hustling them out the door and into Oz’s van, exclaiming they were going to be late. That got Xander moving and as they were driving Xander began to go over his game plan. “So you guys will pretend fatigue and leave early thereby leaving me to innocently catch a ride with Cordy?”

“Yes Xander.”

“And then I can possibly suggest a nice quiet drive?”

“Yes Xander.”

“And then maybe make a fool of myself by declaring my undying love for her?”

“Yes, yes, yes!!”

“Will, you didn’t even know what my next 2 questions were going to be before you answered them! What if I was going to ask if the 3 of us could have a steamy love triangle?”

She glared at him as Oz said, “But you weren’t going to ask that were you?”

“No but I could of.”

“Then everything’s cool,” Oz said, parking the van.

“Cool? Nothings cool, I have sweaty palms!!”

“What’s wrong with Xander tonight?” Cordelia asked as he went to get drinks.

“Nothing... well other than he’s Xander,” Willow said.

Cordelia chuckled at that. There was no denying that Xander was a.... well... a Xander. And she also knew there was no denying that she was still in love with the dork. Almost 2 years since they broke up and she was still his. *He just doesn’t realise it* she thought sadly. She was completely over the little Willow Xander thing. If Oz could do it, and way before her, she knew she could too.

“And this next song has been requested by a ‘lame dork’ for Cordelia who still after all this time, has his heart.”

Cordelia, Willow and Oz turned as Xander came up to their table. Grinning, he said to Willow and Oz, “Change of plan.” Sobering he looked at Cordelia intently. “Claim me?” he asked softly.

She gave a low cry and took his offered hand. They moved onto the dance floor, staring into each other’s eyes. They swayed together slowly, the Bronze fading into the background as they revelled in the feeling of being in each other’s arms again.

Cordelia sighed softly, merely content to float. Xander grinned slightly and as he did so, enfolded her closer in his arms. They didn’t notice Buffy and Angel walk in hand in hand.

“Are we late?” Buffy asked as they reached Willow and Oz.

“No, you’re right on time. The first act just begun,” Willow said smiling. Oz leant down and kissed the top of her head.

“What?”

“I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again. You’re quite the human Will.”
