Jeff Probsts (voice-over): "Previously on...Survivor!"
We see the 16 castaways taking apart the ship, Spike and Xander arguing, Tara crying, Wesley being voted off, a sort of montage of Riley crying about his cow, then him getting voted off. We see Faith and Spike kissing, then Buffy and Angel walking down the beach holding hands. Gunn choking on the bug challenge, and Buffy forming her alliances.
Words flash up on the screen: Day 7
Usually right about now there would be a peaceful shot of a beach, or the ocean, but it's anything but peaceful at either camp. We start out at the Tagi camp, who are fighting very early on this glorious morning.
Cordelia are Buffy are several feet away from each other, yelling. Angel is standing with his arms around Buffy.
Cordelia: "I haven't done anything wrong!"
Buffy: "You haven't done ANYTHING! While everyone has been helping out with the camp, you've been lying there working on your tan!"
Cordelia: "That isn't true! I helped you and Angel get firewood!"
Buffy: "Shut up, Cordy; you know the only reason you came along is because you were afraid that Angel and I would have big smoochies while you were gone. Did you really think he ever had a thing for you?!"
Cordelia: "He still does!"
Even Angel has to laugh at that. He's standing there with his arms around Buffy, and Cordelia is yelling that he has a crush on her? Not likely.
Buffy (more calmly): "You keep this up Cordelia, and you know you're gone. I'm not one to mess with. And you know it."
Cordelia just turns around and kicks the sand, then walks away angrily. Before she goes too far, though, she turns back around.
Cordy: "Why don't you tell that to Anya!"
Anya rushes over and looks at Buffy, confused.
"What?"
But before we hear any more, we turn our attention the the Pagong Tribe, where things are just as tense. Spike and Xander are in the middle of a huge fight.
Xander: "What the hell, Spike? What have I done to piss you off so much?"
Spike: "Bloody hell, Harris! You're a fucking retard, you know that? I wish I could bloody beat you up, y'know that?"
Interview with Spike: "If there's on person I want off this bloody island, it's Xander."
Interview with Xander: "If there's on person I want off this island, it's Spike."
Faith and Fred try to seperate the two, although Fred has difficulties. It's not like she has Slayer Strength, y'know.
Back to the Tagi Tribe, where Buffy is nearly in tears, facing Anya.
Interview with Buffy: "When I came into this game, I set up my alliance with Willow, Angel, and Gunn, and then Giles a little later on, and we were planning to get rid of Riley, Cordy, and Anya, mainly because they weren't working, and of course, Riley's cow issues. But I guess Anya smartened up and now she's really helping out a lot...but is it too little, too late?"
Buffy: "Anya, I just...I just need to talk to Angel and Will and Gunn for a second, k?"
Anya: "No, Buffy! Just tell what's gonig on! What did Cordelia mean?Whatever you have to say to them, you can say to me!! I know I started this game off wrong, but I want the money, and I'll do whatever it takes to get it!! I'll work!! I have been for the past few days, you know that!"
Buffy: "...I know."
Interview with Gunn: "Oh man, it was tense here today. Whoo, that was some catfight they had! I mean, like wow!"
Buffy walk over to Anya and looks her in the eye, sympathetically. She clearly feels bad for originally planning to eliminate Anya.
Buffy: "Anya?"
Anya: (sniff) "Yeah?"
Buffy: "You helped us get rid of Riley, and you've done well in all of the challenges so far. You've even been working on the camp. And I admire you for that...but in the beginning we decided that we would vote you out if the opportunity arose. And now I'm regretting that decision."
Anya: "Oh."
Buffy: Yeah..."
Anya: "SO...am I part of the alliance or not?" She bites her bottom lip.
Buffy looks around for help from Willow, Gunn, Angel and Giles. They all nod and smile, and Buffy turns back to Anya.
Buffy: "Yeah. Absolutely."
The two girls hug, and Cordelia looks at them furiously, murder in her eyes {OK, maybe not murder, but hate}. This was NOT how she wanted this to play out. Dammit!
Commercial Break: "Alesse. Makes sense to me."
Back to the show. It's still day seven. The tribes have officially spent one week on the island. 7 days down, 32 to go.
Everyone (except perhaps Cordelia) at Tagi is really excited for today's challenge. Today they are having their reward challenge. Angel reads the Reward Challenge tree mail.
Angel: "To win this challenge
You must go down below
Carry your treasure to shore,
Faster than your foe."
Pagong and Tagi looks mystified about what they must do in this challenge, but they hike up to the beach where the challenge is being held. Jeff Probsts is waiting for them.
Jeff Probsts: Welcome to today's Reward Challenge. Out there are two rafts, one for Pagong and one for Tagi. On my signal, each tribe will swim out to their raft where a treasure chest is waiting on the bottom of the ocean. Inside it, are a snorkel, mask, fins, and fishing spear. Now, Pagong, I hear that you haven't been exactly catching a lot of food lately, while Tagi has caught a wild boar."
The Pagong Tribe look over at Tagi threateningly.
Jeff Probsts: "You must drag the treasure chest back to shore. The first tribe to do so wins. Understand? Good. On your mark...get set...GO!"
The tribes race out to the ocean, Pagong has a bit of a lead, but Tagi are not far behind. Obviously, Pagong would kill for some real food (I mean, you can only have so much rice).
Now both tribes are at their rafts, and diving down to grab hold of the chest. Easier said than done. Finally, Spike gets a hold of Pagong's treasure chest and starts to drag it along the sand, underwater.
Angel, Gunn, and Buffy, being the strongest three in the tribe, are taking turns diving down to grab their treasure chest. Finally, Gunn does it and he drags it several feet along the bottom, while his tribe swims behind him.
Pagong are still ahead, but Tagi is catching up. Spike is doing most of the work, but when he gets too tired, Xander takes over. Pagong is almost there...20 feet...10 feet...
Jeff Probsts: "Pagong WINS!" He uses a key to open up the chest and shows them their new fishing gear. Pagong have a group hug in slow motion while a snip or the theme song plays.
Commercial Break: "Glosettes. Shake it up!"
Another shot of a beach. Things are much calmer today, and even Spike and Xander seem to be on better terms. They both did awesome in the reward challenge. "Day 8" comes up.
Now we see the Pagong Tribe. Fred, once again, is reading out the tree mail.
Fred: "When one of your tribe is injured You must help them as much as you can Build a stretcher to save them, and try to come up with a plan."
Both tribes do what the tree mail says, and starts to build a stretcher. They each decide to use their lightest member to test out the stretcher. Pagong picks Fred, and Tagi picks Buffy.
Xander, who brought a pillow as his luxury item, suggests that they use his pillowcase for the stretcher. This works well, and they make a frame out of sticks. Fred says that it is comfortable, and will hold her well.
Tagi is out of ideas. Eventually they gather up several logs and tye them together with some thread that Giles brought. Kind of a weird luxury item, thread, but whatever. Anyways, although not very comfortable, it will support Buffy.
The tribes make their way to the location of the challenge, carrying their stretchers. Pagong are in a very good mood, due to the fact that they have been eating tons of fish for the past few days, instead of their usual rice. Mostly everyone is on good terms.
Tagi are very disappointed in themselves for their poor excuse for of an attempt to win yesterday's challenge. While Pagong are out singing "Survivor" (yup, Faith's at it again!), the Tagi Tribe hike in silence.
Jeff Probsts greets them at the edge of the jungle.
Jeff Probsts: Welcome to today's Immunity Challenge. Now, in today's challenge, you must select one member of your tribe who will be 'injured.' He or she will come with me, where we'll place them somewhere in the jungle, tied to a tree. Then on my signal, the rest of the tribe will race into the jungle with their stretcher and 'rescue' their tribe member. They then must locate the First Aid tent and take the injured member to the First Aid tent. Whichever tribe completes the challenge first wins immunity. The injured tribe member is allowed to make noise to help their tribe locate them, everyone must have one hand on the stretcher at all times while their tribe member is on it, and the injured member must be on the stretcher at all times when being taken to the tent. Everyone clear?"
Everyone nods, and Buffy and Fred step forward. Buffy and Angel share a quick kiss before Buffy and Fred head off with Jeff into the forest. Due to TV magic, Jeff comes back only a few seconds later.
Jeff Probsts: "On your mark...get set...GO!"
The two tribes run into the forest, taking seperate directions. We can hear them yelling out their teammates names.
"Buffy? Buffy!" "Fred!! Fred, where are you?!" The Tagi tribe faintly hear a response from somewhere deep in the jungle.
Willow: "Keep yelling Buffy!" She does so, which leads them straight to her.
A camera shows Fred yelling her voice hoarse, but alas (I'm being dramatic here), they cannot hear her. The Pagong tribe strain to listen, before randomly choosing a direction.
Meanwhile, the Tagi Tribe are rapidly untying Buffy from the tree and lowering her onto the stretcher. She frowns about the uncomfortable stretcher, but doesn't bother to complain. Now all they have to do is find the first aid tent.
The Pagong Tribe are still looking for Fred. Several minutes pass, and finally they get close enough to hear her. They hurry over and untie her from the tree.
The guys hold the front of the stretcher while the girls hold the back. The run blindly through the forest, searching for the tent.
Tagi and Pagong are now tied as they race through the forest. Several minutes pass, when both tribes spot the tent at the same time. They race towards it, eager to win the immunity challenge. Suddenly, Joyce trips over a rock and slips, but manages to keep her hand on the stretcher. This, however, loses them valuable time, and they watch in horror and the Tagi Tribe reach the tent first!!
"Woohoo!" Tagi scream. They hold the Immunity Idol above their head and jump around happily.
Commercial Break: "Mellow Yellow. Smooth, very smooth."
The Tagi Tribe are celebrating their victory over supper. Apparently, Gunn and Angel have caught another wild boar, which will last them several days. The only one who isn't joining in is Cordelia, who sits by herself on the beach. Nobody seems to notice.
Interview with Giles: "I don't really understand Cordelia, but I don't think anyone else does either. I do hope she learns that she'll have to change this attitude of hers if she wants to stay in this game."
Interview with Buffy and Angel: (Angel) "Cordy didn't join us for our celebration dinner, but I don't think anyone really minded. (Buffy) I'm glad she's staying another few days. More time to mess with her." She grins wickedly and snuggles up into Angel's arms.
Interview with Corelia (she's crying): "I just can't help it. I wasn't brought up to work, and this is so different than what I'm used to. Everyone is being so mean to me, they hate me, and I know they want me to (sniff) leave."
Things are much quieter at the Pagong Tribe. They are having another fish dinner. It's no secret that Joyce is going to go, so they are sort of holding the dinner in her honour.
They all hold up their glasses, which are filled with water, not wine.
Oz: "To Joyce."
"To Joyce," they all repeat. They eat their dinner in silence, but after dinner they do something unexpected for Joyce. They all sit down in the tiny 'living room' of their hut and they go around saying one thing they will miss about Joyce. Somewhat childish, but very nice nonetheless.
Tara: "Um...I'm going to miss that you were always really nice to me when I was feeling sad or lonely."
Xander: "I'm going to miss the food!! Joyce, you're the best cook ever!! I know the fish won't taste the same without you."
Faith: "Yeah..I'll miss you because...you never got in to a fight with me or pissed me off." Everyone looks at her, but she just shakes her head.
Spike: "Bloody hell...well, I'll miss the fact that you didn't treat me like a freak like the rest of these trailer-trash pisswads." Everyone laughs at this.
Spike (continued): I know that sometimes I'm a monster, but you treat me like a man." Everyone takes in these deep words. Who knew Spike could be so thoughtful? Maybe his should write poetry?
Oz: "I'll miss everything you did on the camp, and how hard you worked, even when you were tired. You're a trooper."
Fred: "I'll just miss you, Joyce." Aw. Everyone smiles at how true this is. Joyce was well-liked by everyone, but they couldn't afford to lose anymore challenges.
Interview with Faith: "It's like a curse, y'know? All the older people are making us lose the immunity challenges, and so they got to go. Simple as that."
Interview with Joyce: "I'm fine with going home...I miss my family, and I truly have enjoyed my experience on the island, but I'm glad to be able to see everyone back home again."
When the sky gets dark, the Pagong Tribe head up to Tribal Council. Everyone brings their torches, but the only one who brings her backpack is Joyce, because everyone knows she's going to be voted off.
Jeff Probsts greets them at Tribal Council.
Jeff Probsts: "Welcome back, Pagong." They all settle on the benches behind the fire.
Jeff Probsts: Now, you all seem to know who will be the one to go tonight. But let's talk about Spike and Xander. You too have disliked each other from the beginning, but recently things have cooled down between you too. Why is that?"
Xander: "I'll answer that. Spike is a good guy, very very VERY deep down. He really proved himself at the Reward Challenge."
Spike: "Yeah."
Jeff Probsts: "There are two main alliances in this group: Fred, Tara, Oz and Xander; and then Faith and Spike. If you all make it into the merge, what will happen to these alliances? Oz?"
Oz: "This is a complicated game, and you never know what will happen next. We'll just to wait and see."
Jeff Probsts: "Fair enough, fair enough. So we'll begin voting. Joyce, you're up first."
Joyce walks calmly over the voting station, and thinks about her choice for a minute. She writes down Faith's name on the paper.
Joyce: "Faith, you're a good person, but I just didn't get to know you very well. We're probably the least close people in this tribe, and I know this vote won't make a difference. Don't take it personally."
She sits back down, and Xander votes next. He votes for Joyce, even though he will "miss her food greatly." Once he sits back down, Fred votes, then Tara. We don't get to see their votes, but it's probably safe to say that they voted for Joyce.
Spike votes, then Faith. They also vote for Joyce. Faith doesn't seem to care too much, although Spike looks kind of sad. Guess he really will miss Joyce.
Jeff Probsts goes to tally the votes, while Pagong sit on the log benches. Most people are huddled near Joyce.
Jeff Probsts: "First vote: Joyce. Second vote: Joyce. Third vote: Joyce." He takes a deep breath. Fourth vote...Joyce. The other votes don't matter, Joyce has four of the seven votes. I'll ask you to bring your torch to me Joyce.
Joyce gets up, keeping a smile plastered on her face, only slightly forced. Jeff Probsts extinguishes her torch, then Joyce turns to the rest of the Pagong Tribe.
Joyce: "I'll miss you guys. You win for me, OK?" They nod, and she heads down the long, dark path.
Jeff Probsts: "Well, that was your second Tribal Council. You guys can head back to camp, I'll see you tomorrow." The music starts up as they turn to leave.
Jeff Probsts (voice-over): "Stay tuned for scenes from the next episode."
Commercial Break: "Lays. Betcha can't eat just one!"
Jeff Probsts (voice-over): "Next time on...Survivor."
We see an aerial shot of a huge smiley face on the beach, the Tagi Tribe laughing at something (or someone), Angel and Buffy kissing, CORDELIA and Angel kissing, several shots of snakes, then Tara crying on the beach {OK, so obviously it's not Tara that gets hurt} and then an Emergency helicopter lifting off from the beach! I know, I know, I'm very sorry for doing this....but it's gonna happen!!
