Summary: Sequel to Revenge and Cheat.
Disclaimer: No, I don't own everyone and everything in this fic. I don't own
anything. If I did, I would be rich, believe me I'm SO not rich--so don't
sue me, please!
Distribution: Just let me know where it's going.
Timeline: Season 1
Rating: I'd have to say PG-14 or PG-15
Authors Note: Sorry, but there won't be a sequel to this one...hope you
still enjoy it. Also, sorry this one took so long, but my life is incredibly
crazy. And yes, it's shorter than Revenge and Cheat, but my finales are
always shorter-sorry! Thank God I'm not also running three TV shows, too.
*cough cough Joss cough cough* I don't know how he does it. Sorry again, and
I hope I still get feedback! :D
Dedication: Everyone who sent me feedback on Revenge. Thanks so much!
Feedback: I would really appreciate it!!!

Buffy waited silently, staring at the dirty white floor. She fixed her eyes on the small square pattern, forcing herself to concentrate on anything except what was going on around her.
"Buffy," somebody said. She snapped her head up, but before she could, she felt the cool metal of a knife blade against her throat.
"You son of a bitch," she said to Matthew. She had known that it was him who had hurt Angel, but she never would have believed he would hurt her too. Now that they were face to face, she wondered how she could have been so stupid.
"I don't think you're really in the position to be calling anybody a son of a bitch right now, you whore," he said. He looked at Buffy menacingly and held the knife tighter. Then he slowly licked the right side of her face, and to his delight, she shivered and squirmed.
"Stop it," Buffy said, almost whispering. Why aren't there any doctors around? she thought. He was going to kill her, right in the hospital waiting room.
"SHUT UP!" he yelled suddenly, and his hand began to shake in fury. "YOU CAN'T TELL ME WHAT TO DO!"
Keep screaming, just keep screaming, she thought. He did, and she was right. A hospital orderly rushed over and struggled to get the knife out of Matthew's hand. He successfully pulled it away from him, and looked at him, both scared and proudly.
"You should probably go sir, or I will have to call the police," he said politely. Matthew looked angrily at Buffy, and stomped through the sliding doors.
She thanked the orderly and wandered aimlessly down the hall. She stopped only when she walked into a man leaning against the wall.
"Xander!" Buffy cried out. He pulled her into a friendly hug, holding her tightly. Buffy felt tears sting her eyes as she thought about how much her friends cared about her-Xander never liked her boyfriends, but he was here for her anyways.
"How ya holding up?" he asked her. She sighed and look around. Willow, Giles, and even Cordelia were there. She hugged each of them in turn before she spoke.
"It was Matthew, he pulled a knife on Angel when we were sleeping," she sighed.
"Whoa, you and Angel were sleeping together?!" Xander asked in alarm. Typical Xander.
"Nothing happened, Xander," she shook her head, but smiled. Then she frowned again. "I-I came with the ambulance, and then he tried to use the knife on me here, at the hospital. I'm ok, though," she said, knowing that everyone would ask that.
"Thank goodness," Giles said.
A doctor in his early 40s walked over to them.
"Buffy Summer?" She nodded. "He lost a lot of blood, but he's going to be fine. He still hasn't decided if he's going to press charges or not..." the doctor trailed off. "He's asking to see you."
She nodded and followed the doctor to a room, and stepped in quietly. Angel lay in a hospital bed, complete with the sickening gown.
"Oh Angel," Buffy whispered. She walked over and sat down in the chair next to the bed, and held his hand. He looked over at her and smiled encouragingly.
"I'll be alright, Buffy," he said. They looked into each other's souls {haha, he has a soul...ok, I'll shut up now, back to the fic} for a moment, and finally Angel broke the silence.
"You should get some rest, you look like hell."
"That was just figuratively, right? Because living here, I honestly never know..." she smiled. Buffy leaned over and kissed him. At first it was casual, but it soon become more. He stroked her face and their tongues dueled. Buffy got on the bed and straddled him, kissing him furiously. He pushed her hair behind her as things got more intense.
There was a knock at the door.
"I uh, hate to break the moment you two..." Xander said. "But there's some people who want to speak to Buffy." The two lovers broke apart and Buffy embarrasedly got off the hospital bed. She walked to the door with Xander and waved goodbye to Angel.
"Excuse me, Miss Summers," said a man in a long overcoat. "I need to ask you a few questions, if you'll come with me please." She followed him away from the door down a hallway.
"Now," he said, his face hidden in shadow. "How do you want it to be? Quick? Or slow..." the vampire laughed evilly as his face contorted in laughter.
"Oh, for god's sakes!" Buffy said irratedly. She pulled a stake out of her purse and quickly killed the vampire. She looked up. "Come on, if you're going to send me a demon at a time like this, make sure he's at least slightly witty!" she yelled at the Hellmouth.
She walked back to her friends near the lobby. "I'm going to say goodbye to Angel, then patrol. Seems the Hellmouth is acting up."
"Buffy, stay with Angel, we'll pick up the slack," Willow assured her. "Besides, you're too tired to patrol. You've been here for almost 30 hours with no sleep."
Buffy nodded gratefully at Willow, and headed back to Angel's room.

The next few weeks passed slowly. Every hour that Angel was in the hospital was sheer torture for Buffy. The doctors finally released Angel, but that didn't solve all their problems.
"He's still out there, you know," Buffy said to Angel the Saturday after he got out. They were laying on his bed, talking and cuddling.
"We'll find him Buffy. Giles is probably researching right now," he assured her. She sighed and snuggled closer to him.
"I'm sorry," Buffy whispered to Angel.
"Sorry? Buffy, none of this is your fault, I told you that, sweetie."
"I know, it's just..." Buffy started.
"Just what?"
"This wasn't the way things were supposed to turn out," she replied, tears stinging her green eyes. "Nobody was supposed to get hurt. It should have been you and me-together. Matthew *sniff* gone, and-"
"Life isn't a fairy tale, Buffy," Angel said gently. Buffy sighed again.
"I guess not."
And they lay like that for a long time, just thinking.

*1 Month Later*
"So, any demons?" Buffy asked cheerfully as she entered the library with Angel. Giles shook his head, and Willow looked up from the computer. Xander just kept munching on donuts.
"Ooh, donuts!" Angel said, and headed over to Xander's table. Buffy laughed and sat down with Willow, and sighed happily.
Matthew was in jail. Buffy and Angel were together. There were no new vampire gangs in town, no demons trying to open the Hellmouth-oh, and Angel had finally gotten blinds in his bedroom. Yup, everything was as pretty normal as it could get in a little town called Sunnyhell-whoops, I mean Sunnydale!
Seriously, lack of feedback is making me depressed here, people (ok, maybe not, but seriously want some feedback! It's like air to me-I need it to breathe!!!) Come on, be a good person. Do a good deed everyday: For example, today, instead of calling into WorldVision or whatever, send a poor helpless writer with malaria suffering from starvation in a third world country some feedback! Hehehe! You know you wanna! :)
