A Day in the Life

by Bulletproof

RATING: PG for language (and that's just the rant, haha)
SPOILERS: Not really. Part of my Love Wasted universe.
DISTRIBUTION: LMK where it's goin'.
DISCLAIMER: The characters don't belong to me, but you know what? The idea does.
AUTHOR'S SCREAMING NOTE: This is a response to a "challenge" sent out by Slayer on soulmateseternal:
Buffy is a vamp but for some reason (I'm sure you can think of one) she's not evil. I don't know how she became one so that's up to you. Angel's soul is bound, (again open to interpretation) and he and she are married and are training future slayers. It can have fluff but please try and make it PG.
It must include:
* Buffy and Angel sparring with assorted weapons
* A pair of pink Bunny Slippers
* A golf club or a tennis racket
Gee....... sounds very bloody familiar to me..... Kinda like the epilogue to my story, Love Wasted... maybe.... THAT'S BECAUSE IT IS!!!!! I'm sorry.... wait, no, I'm not bloody sorry, this is my fritchin' fic idea, damnit, and if you're gonna steal the bleeding thing, the least you can do is either a) tell me about it or b) give me some bloody credit. *breathe* Sorry ya had to witness that people, but when it comes to stuff like this, I'm very damned possessive. Oh, and apologies if this is a second rate fic, but this was mainly a way to get out my stealing-rage. Grrrrrrr.........

Spike knocked loudly on Jacinta's door.

"Wake up, Slayer!!"

The door burst open as Jack, wielding a tennis racket, got ready to massacre the intruder. She was about to hit him in the face, when she lowered her weapon upon her recognition.

"Bloody hell, Spike, who the hell gets up this early in the morning?"

"Why don't you ask the prophecy poofs of the 12th Century? You know about the big bad danger that's coming."

"Bloody wankers." Jack agreed before Spike started trudging along towards Angel and Buffy's room down the hall.

Jack began to follow him before she stopped mid-step, glaring at the giggling twins.

"What the hell's so funny? Tess, Lucy...." she began in a menacing tone.

"You're even starting to talk like him!" Lucy said disjointedly, her speech broken by fits of the giggles.

"And you say you don't like him!!" Tess exclaimed before burst out into laughter.

"I am not..... a-and I do not!! I just....... Aargh!" Jack stormed off at her loss of words as the twins held their sides from the pain of too much laughter, holding onto each other as they slowly made their way down the hall towards Spike.

Spike was pounding on his fellow vamps' door, much in the same fashion as he had Jack's. However, each of his thumps seemed to be accompanied with one from within the room, as well as quite a bit of suggestive heavy breathing.

"Come on you two, I know you're awake!! I can hear ya shaggin' like rabbits!!"

Sure enough after a resounding call of "Angel!", coupled with a deep, animalistic growl, the former-Slayer opened the door, hair mused, wearing one of Angel's hurriedly buttoned shirts and a pair of pink bunny slippers.

Realising the pun, the four outside the door fell into hysterics as Buffy glared at each of them in turn.

"We're not amused." she grumbled.

"Really? 'Cos I was." Angel said, sliding his arms around Buffy's waist, drawing her body towards his even as she gave him a death stare. "Baby, you must admit, we are pretty bunny-like."

She slyly smiled as her fingers snaked their way into his hair, decidedly manouevering his mouth towards hers as their eyes flickered with passion.

"Ahem."

All laughing, all cajoling and all 'having' was put to a stand still at the sound of the stuffy British watcher's disapproval.

"Angel, Buffy, I believe you would be setting a good example if you showed the children your preparedness for the approaching prophecy if you were down in the training area in fifteen minutes, don't you?"

"Yeah Giles." Buffy mumbled as the Watcher walked away, shaking his head and silently chuckling at the situation.

"Ooh, someone's in trouble."

"Shut up, Spike." Angel and Buffy replied in unison as they both hurriedly closed the door to get ready for their training session.

****

The new gang, fully clothed and ready, were assembled at the training area, facing Giles.

"This new demon is extremely strong and has the ability to repel any weapons not previously magically treated. I have ordered a new set of weapons to deal with this problem, things you may or may not be familiar with. Thus, I would like for you to watch as Buffy and Angel demonstrate."

Buffy smirked from across the room at her husband, holding the weapon lightly in her hands. To her it just looked like any old stake, but hey, she'd humour Giles.

"You ready for me, lover?"

"Always." Angel pronounced with a growl as he charged with.... whatever the hell he was holding.

Angel swiped with his weapon which Buffy blocked with her forearm. She countered with a kick to his midsection which Angel recovered from, thrusting again at her head as she ducked. Angel took one look at his weapon and threw it aside, grabbing an old-fashioned quarter-staff instead. The thrust and counter that ensued was quick and deadly to anyone who wouldn't have been able to keep the pace. The couple ended up chest to chest, both holding onto his quarterstaff as Buffy gave him a brutal kiss, phasing him out before delivering a blow to his head that sent him reeling to the floor. Buffy straddled him as she raised her stake, slamming it down towards her lover's chest, lost in the battle.

Luckily, the stake seemed to be propelled backwards at her motions, sending Buffy with it.

"What the hell?" Buffy demanded after her crash with the wall.

Giles grinned, "It seems that the magick has worked. The new weapons will not do harm to those pure of heart and hence is vital to our cause against the approaching prophecy."

"To hell with this," Buffy said as she grabbed the nearest weapon, a broad sword.

Seeing his love charge at him, Angel snatched away a matching weapon, and managed to escape from her wrath. Angel could feel the pent up energy rolling off her in waves. Sure, the two had been training the new slayers for months now, but it just didn't seem to be a challenge anymore. Buffy had the added advantage of being a Slayer-turned-vampire as Angel had of being a master vamp. The two had missed the blood-pounding that accompanied the adrenalin of a good fight, though not completely different from their nightly activities in the bedroom.

They continued their vicious form of foreplay, the sounds of clanging metal and unnecessary panting filling the room as watcher, trainer and slayers watched the exchange.

"Should we do something about this?" Lucy asked in a quiet voice.

"Nah. Let 'em have at it. Might stop 'em shagging for a while." Spike noted.

At his words, the lovers toppled, once more with Buffy straddling Angel, her sword raised above her head.

"Topped once more, lover, whatcha gonna do?"

"Gee, Buffy, I thought we already went through this routine last night, but hey," Angel caught her off-guard by rolling the both of them such that he ended up on top. "I can go with an encore."

The fury in Buffy's eyes translated itself into passion as the ex-Slayer captured his lips and held them prisoner in a furious dance of tongue and teeth.

Behind them, the remaining gang turned away in an all-too-familiar disgust.

"You were saying?" Jack asked Spike in an I-told-you-so voice.

Spike just shrugged as Giles lead them to a ...... more suitable training ground, rubbing the bridge of his nose with his fingers and leaving the lovers to their own devices.

The End
