Slayer. That's what she was now. Not Buffy, or Buff, or even lover. None of those names meant anything to her anymore. She didn't remember those people any longer.

She couldn't help the people she loved anymore. They all had died or left. Not that she could blame them. She was all that was left. What left was then to do?

She missed him. That's all she could say of now from her life before. She missed him. He was what she stayed alive for. He told her the night they all died he would come back for her.

To her. She was the last thing he had to save. Funny how he had to save her for himself.

And when he finally did come back to her, immortality taking her over, she no longer waited for him. No longer awaited his touch. She didn't remember. Not him nor her nor why she had waited so long in this life.

She felt the blood leave her body as she laid on top of those very ashes. They would be better in a place out of this world. No heaven, no hell. No peace, no rest. She could live like that.
